Purpose
This test rig is used to conduct abrasion resistance test on stones in accordance with procedure under ASTM C-241.

Description
Three test specimen are pressed against a 10” diameter lap rotating at 45 RPM. Load on each specimen is 2 Kg. plus dead weight of holder. Abrasive medium is fed at constant rate while test goes on. Test automatically stops after 225 revolutions.

Initial and final weights of the samples are measured and average weight is found out. Abrasion resistance and hardness is computed.
