Purpose
It is used to study the fatigue life of rolling element bearings with different lube oil conditions

Instrumentation and Data Acquisition System
Data acquistion, processing and real time display of test load, oil inlet temperature, bearing temperature and status are acquired by a PC. These signals are sequentially scanned, processed and displayed graphically.

Description

Spindle housing to house two taper roller test bearings and circulate lubricant.
Pneumatic cylinder to load test bearings axially.
An electric motor with variable speed drive to drive the spindle.
Instrumentation to indicate RPM, revolution totaliser, lubricant temperatures at different locations, applied load and status of lubricant and thermic fluid.
SPM based vibrations pick up system to monitor the health of the test bearings.
