Test Facility

Ducom Test Facility has been in service since 1999, providing tribological testing facilities to academics and industries. Ducom ensures that customers get great value by offering these services on advanced tribometers that are regularly calibrated and checked for repeatability of their results. The test facility is run by experienced staff with more than 5 decades of cumulative testing experience in the field of tribological testing alone.

You choose what suits you best! Our experienced team of test experts is available to assist you at many levels. Our Standard Tests are designed for customers that want conduct tests which conform to ASTM or other standard test methods. A detailed report of tests is submitted in both soft and hard copy.

While standard tests are usually a good starting point, not all real life applications can be tested appropriately by tests limited to the parameters prescribed in standards. It is often required that these parameters be extended for better results. With the Development Tests (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced), customers can now opt for test parameters that extend beyond the normal scope of testing. Ducom can develop instruments and attachments specifically to meet the extended capability requirements.

Facilities and infrastructure:

Ducom Test Facility is housed in a 5000 sqft test lab. Currently available tribology test instruments are:

• Pin on Disk testing (lubricated / dry / controlled humidity)
• Ball on Disk testing (lubricated / dry / controlled humidity)
• Four Ball testing
• HFRR (High Frequency Reciprocating Rig)
• Fretting wear tests (Bio tribological applications / Tribo corrosion)
• Component tester (made to order).
