The Ducom Water Jet Erosion Tester is designed to help researchers rank materials based on their erosion resistance to a water jet carrying erosive media.

The Ducom Water Jet Erosion Tester consists of a sample holder where erodent is made to impinge upon the test sample from a pressurized tank. Test variables are angle of impingement, jet velocity, jet diameter and erodent concentration. Loss of mass is measured and reported as erosion resistance of the sample.
