RECIPROCATING FRICTION MONITOR (AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS) TR 283

The Ducom Reciprocating Friction Monitor – TR 283 Series is designed to evaluate friction and wear characteristics of materials under reciprocating sliding motion in environments similar to those encountered in automotive applications.

The TR 283 Series – Reciprocating Friction Monitor is especially designed to study friction characteristics of materials while trying to closely simulate environments encountered in automotive applications. A reciprocating engine is used to create a bidirectional sliding motion between the samples while a loading mechanism applies the desired load upon the test samples.

A friction measurement system allows for instantaneous friction force to be measured. Coefficient of friction is calculated and displayed on the WinDucom software. A variety of optional facilities are available with the TR 283 Series for characterization under a wide variety of conditions.

The TR 283 Series test instruments come with the WinDucom software for data acquisition and display of results. The system has facilities to measure friction and display coefficient of friction. WinDucom software is used to present data in a variety of ways and CompariView provides a powerful tool to view and compare test results for evaluation.

The TR 283 Series test system is suited for:
  • Friction and wear evaluation under dry or lubricated conditions
  • Lubricant evaluation
  • Automotive piston and liner evaluation
