The Ducom TR 551 – High temperature grease tester is used to evaluate the ability of grease to provide adequate lubrication for extended periods of time when ball bearings are used at light loads,high speed and at elevated temperatures.

The TR 551 is used for performance evaluation of lubricating greases when used in ball bearings at speeds of 10,000 RPM and temperature as high as 372 Deg C as stated in the applicable standards. However, the capabilities of the TR 551 extend beyond the limitations of standards, permitting users to conduct customized tests.

The test system consists of an arrangement where the bearing with the test grease is setup. This arrangement is contained in a furnace. A loading mechanism applies the desired load upon the bearing and the instrument is run at the set speed. The test system is configured to stop automatically upon bearing failure.

The TR 551 test instrument comes with the WinDucom software for data acquisition and display of results. WinDucom software is used to present data in a variety of ways and CompariView provides a powerful tool to view and compare test results for evaluation.
