The Ducom TR 50 test instrument is designed such that a flat test sample is pressed radially against a wheel with a known force. Abrasive media is introduced into the contact area between the sample under test and the wheel such that the wheel carries the abrasive media between the sample and the wheel creating a scenario of three body wear.

The TR 50 allows users to test under a variety of loads, flow rates and types of abrasive media. Loss of weight of test samples indicateswear resistance.
