The Ducom TR 49 – Coal Abrasive Index Tester is designed to evaluate abrasion resistance of coal handling materials to abrasive wear. This tester permits users to evaluate wear resistance of samples at both ambient and high temperatures.

The Ducom TR 49 can be used to assess the relative abrasive wear resistance characteristics of materials that are used for handling of coal.This tester consists of a sample chamber that holds four blades of the material under test in a chamber containing the coal.

After a preset duration at the desired speed, the tester automatically shuts off. Loss of weight in the sample indicates the wear resistance of the material to coal abrasion.
